Farming with nature
We're real farmers!
Little Heath Farm is a Beef and Arable farm run by the Jones family on the National Trust's Dunham Massey estate, close to Altrincham and Manchester.
Our Aberdeen Angus cattle are Red Tractor assured. They are born and bred on the farm and reared at natures pace predominantly on grass. This is a slower way to rear cattle, however, we believe it is better for the cattle, soil, biodiversity and especially the taste of the meat.
The arable crops we grow are in a rotation to ensure the soil does not tire, and we direct drill most of our crops which has many benefits including long term soil health and reduce our carbon emissions.
We work very hard at the farm to encourage biodiversity and use minimum pesticides and herbicides, what we call farming with nature.
We think it's really important to know where food comes from, and have hosted the public on two open farm sundays in the past few years. If you are a school or group who wants to come and look around a real farm please get in touch.

What is Red Tractor?
Red Tractor is a food assurance scheme which covers production standards developed by experts on safety, hygiene, animal welfare and the environment amongst other things. The Red Tractor logo on pack means your food or drink has met these responsible production standards and is fully traceable back to independently inspected farms in the UK.
Trust the tractor!
